DID YOU ALWAYS KNOW THAT YOU WANTED TO BE A DENTIST? WHY/HOW?
I have always been interested in and have enjoyed science and healthcare. I was originally a Pre-Med student in college but after experiencing the world of medicine as a med tech in the Air National Guard I was steered towards the idea of dentistry. After shadowing several dentists and discovering some amazing mentors within the field, I fell in love with dentistry.
WHAT ARE YOU KNOWN FOR PROFESSIONALLY?
I have been told I am very gentle, which is a great compliment to receive as a dentist. My peers would probably say I am always eager to learn, whether it is about a new procedure or a better way to do things we are already doing. I feel like there is never enough time to attend all of the continuing education I would like to. Those I work with might say I am a perfectionist, which can sometimes drive them crazy☺
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT PROFESSIONALLY?
What I enjoy most about my profession would be patient interaction and creating that relationship with my patients. Knowing my patients trust me means the world to me. I am very passionate about patient education and increasing their overall knowledge about oral health care. There is nothing more rewarding than improving someone’s life in any way that I can.
HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED?
I would like to be remembered as someone that is genuinely compassionate and caring but, also, as someone that brings a positive energy and influence to others’ lives.
WHO IS THE FUNNIEST PERSON YOU KNOW?
Several of my girlfriends would fit this description, especially when we get together- we think we are hilarious.
WHAT IS THE WALLPAPER ON YOUR CELLPHONE?
That’s easy, it is always a cute niece or nephew picture.
FAVORITE ICE CREAM FLAVOR?
Anything chocolate- chocolate makes everything better! However, if I had a choice, I would always pick a brownie over ice cream.
WHO DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST? WHY?
Definitely my parents. They have sacrificed so much for their children and they have given us so much love. They have always encouraged, pushed and allowed us to create our futures and follow our dreams. They are amazing examples as parents and as human beings. And now they are the most loving and, simply, the best grandparents around!
